Mokume Gane Chopsticks

Description

These chopsticks are made from stainless steel and mokume gane. Mokume gane is a Japanese metal working technique, the name means ‘wood grain metal’. Each set is one of a kind.

The pattern on the back is made by fusing three different copper based alloys together and forging them into a long bar and twisting it. I then force a patina using acids and other chemicals to give the metals more distinct colorings. The mokume gane portion is then sealed with a museum grade wax to prevent discoloration. The tips are hand forged from stainless steel to resist resist rusting.
